Why Shopify?
In my 10+ years of eCommerce experience, I've worked on many well-known eCommerce platforms like Magento, WooCommerce, Wix and BluCommerce (WordPress). Still, I think none give you as much flexibility, brand ownership and bang for your buck as Shopify does. While I'll work on other platforms to help my clients troubleshoot digital issues, I now only launch NEW eCommerce websites on Shopify. For businesses with no mid- to long-term eCommerce needs, I might also recommend the Wix platform as an alternative option for temporary or marketing-only websites, depending on the business's needs.
I offer a Lite Digital Consultancy Retainer for when your brand needs ad-hoc digital expertise or help with a complex issue your team hasn't tackled.
My Standard and Enterprise-level Digital Consultancy Retainers are great for medium to large businesses with already established eCommerce channels that wish to migrate to Shopify, need a short-term digital leader or have regular content, expertise and digital review needs.
Shopify eCommerce Projects
Generally speaking, I can manage all aspects of a new site/migration of an existing site to Shopify. The below tasks can be actioned as part of the Standard or Enterprise level retainer package or as a one-off project with a single quote and SOW (statement of work). If your existing digital team can manage specific elements, I'll ensure my time is only spent on tasks that add value to ensure maximum cost-effectiveness.
INTRO & BRAND EXPLORATION
Typically an hour or two exploration call or face to face meeting with key stakeholders to help understand your top level eCommerce requirements.
PROPOSAL
& COSTS
I'll produce a SOW (Statement of Work) document outlining a proposal with costs and timescales of your new Shopify website.
BRAND
DEEPDIVE
Depending on the project and proposal I'll often carry out a brand exploration deepdive. This typically includes reviewing existing site analytics, customer and product databases.
STAKEHOLDER
REQUIREMENTS
Typically a series of calls depending on the number of teams / channels that will be involved to ensure all business needs are understood. The SOW may change at this point depending on what is unearthed.
CONCEPTS & WIREFRAMES
I'll produce a working top level concept of your new website. Once approved I'll prepare the full working website ready for launch.
ORDER & CUST DATA MIGRATION
If needed I can migrate all of your customer, order and marketing data from your old platform to Shopify or an integrated CDP, ESP, CRM etc of your choice.
PRODUCT DATA MIGRATION
Once the concept is approved I'll migrate all of your products across to Shopify and implement /create any user journey improvements previously agreed on as part of your new concept.
DOMAIN
MIGRATION
I can assist with the migration of your domain away from an old provider to Shopify, Help you setup international domain structures and implement redirects to ensure any search engine rankings aren't completely lost.
Content & Navigation
The below tasks can be done as part of a new store or on an existing website to bring your content and customer user journey inline with the latest eCommerce trends and best practices
NAVIGATION & MENUS
I'll use user journey and CRO best practices to ensure your products and information are found easily and that legal content is available where and when it should be.
PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY
To help improve conversion or to bring consistency to your new Shopify store I can also photograph products and their variants to create new content for your PDP's (product pages) and LP's (Landing pages).
CONTENT
CREATION
I'll ensure that any gaps in your editorial content and visual assets are identified and plugged to minimise customer queries and improve usability of your store.
Optimisation & Launch
If I haven't already handed the site framework over to your eCommerce team I'm happy to manage the entire launch process including Optimisation, Email Templates and QA ahead of your 'GO LIVE# window.
OPTIMSATION
SEO & CRO
Once all content and structure of your new Shopify website is in place I'll review page meta data and content to ensure they adhere to SEO and Conversion Rate Optimisation best practices.
TRANSACTIONAL EMAIL TEMPLATES
I can assist with or entirely manage the branding of your transactional and triggered email copy and branding so that your user journey and branding are consistent all the way through your customer's journey.
UAT & QA TESTING
I will always conduct my own UAT of the site before it's launch and if required I can also produce detailed QA scripts for end to end testing of any new integrations and features too.
